Larkspur Flower Essence

It is closely related to delphinium, hellebore, and wolfsbane (which it resembles slightly) Larkspur is the annular variety with finer leaves than its perennial cousin Delphinium. These are native northern hemisphere plants. All members of this family are toxic to humans and animals. The entire plant, especially its seeds contain powerful diterpenoid alkaloids.

In flower essence form it is completely safe. It can be used to inspire courage and confidence, magnetism and charisma and help us express our own leadership qualities through self-expression. It is also a gay love herb associated with the metamorphosis of Hyakinthos and the death of Aias. Larkspur was also one of the flowers in Persephone’s bouquet.
