Blue Lotus Tincture

Lotus was a symbol of rebirth and immortality. It's beautiful flower growing up from the muddy river bed towards the light. It was sacred to the Egyptians and depicted in their hieroglyphics alongside mandrake, another herb of great importance. Blue lotus was used for both ceremonial and recreational purposes, and was also known by the ancient Greeks. It was valued for its euphoric, aphrodisiac and relaxing properties. Often infused into wine and other sacred drinks, blue lotus can be initially stimulating with increased talkativeness. The plant contains the alkaloids nuciferene and apomorphine (not an opiod) which activate the brain’s dopamine receptions which are responsible for euphoria. It has also been used to treat erectile dysfunction due to depression, and help with stress, anxiety and insomnia. Blue lotus is a wonderful herb to use for lucid dreaming, meditation and visualization.
